Fairy Tail is an anime adaptation of the adventure manga by Hiro Mashima, who also created of the popular anime series RAVE: Groove Adventure.
The series is directed by Tokyo Majin director Shinji Ishihira, and the series composition was handled by Masashi Sogo, who also handled BLEACH and The Prince of Tennis. It was produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight.
The series is now running on its third year.
The series premiered in the Asia-Pacific Region on ANIMAX Asia on September 2010, and was also aired on sister network AXN last April, but exclusively in the Philippine feed. It is also available online through Crunchyroll, which is being streamed worldwide, but only available to premium members and accessible for only 30 days.
The series was one of the titles announced by the Philippine network during the “Holy Week” last April.

Come on GMA, you could do better than that. This channel needs more new anime than ever. Currently, it airs One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Detective Conan, Hunter X Hunter. I mean, these 4 shows ever since then have always been airing and it never ended. Sayang naman yung timeslot kung puro mga lumang anime lang nilalagay nyo. Kelangan nyo i promote yung bagong anime na tiyak na makakabuti sa mga bata lalo na yung mga walang cable. Kung ako sa inyo, ituloy nyo na.
